Clubsport Carrier Bag Donations

Clubsport has bagged thousands of pounds for both The Little Princess Trust and St Michael's Hospice after introducing a carrier bag charge despite being exempt. Clubsport doesn't have to charge for its bags because it falls below the governments criteria. But Managing Director Simon Hussey decided to charge the 5p for them anyway, saying "Most customers are more than happy to part with small change as they know it supports a good cause. In 2016 Clubsport raised just over £200 through the same scheme, but proceeds have been boosted in the past 12 months after extending the idea to other retail businesses that Clubsport partners across the UK. This has helped raise £5,780 which has been split equally between The Little Princess Trust and St Michael's Hospice.
